Spring 2
This Half Term
This Half Term in Reading our focus text is 'The Ice Palace' by Robert Swindells 
We will be reading the text and picking the text apart in our RAID lessons. We will be also discussing the different comprehension components as well as why the author has chosen to write the text in the way he has and the impact that it has on the story.
In English we will be looking at a variety of books and writing different text types around these.
In Science we will be continuing the topic of Living Things and their Habitats. Our learning will take place in and out of the learning room, at Forest School. We will be learning about how environmental changes can effect living things and pose dangers to living things.
Our Geography topic will continue this half term on Rivers. We will be looking at the River Tame and its characteristics. We will then be looking at the British sewage system and the cause and effects of flooding.
In Computing we are going to be delving into Information Technology and learning about how the internet and networks work.
In Art we are exploring the world of Collage. We will look at the artist Paul Klee. We will discuss his key pieces of art and his bold style. They will finally produce their own collage based on Paul Klee’s style.
In French we are looking at 'Hair and Eyes’ and learning to say, read and write descriptions on how people look.

Last Half Term
The key text we will be focusing on this Half Term is 'The Iron Man' by Ted Hughes
This is providing the base for learning across a few of our subjects. It will be inspiring our writing within our English lessons, we shall also be picking the text apart in our Reading sessions and discussing the different comprehension components as well as why the author has chosen to write the text in the way he has and the impact that it has on the story.
Our Geography topic is on Rivers. We will be looking at the River Tame and its characteristics. We will then be looking at the British sewage system and the cause and effects of flooding.
In Science we will be looking at the topic of Living Things and their Habitats. Our learning will take place in and out of the learning room, at Forest School. We will be learning about how living things can be grouped and learn to use classification keys. We will also be looking at how environmental changes can effect living things.
In Computing we are going to be delving into Information Technology and learning about how the internet and networks work.
In Art we are exploring the world of Painting. We will look at the artist Claude Monet. We will discuss his key pieces of art and his Impressionism style. They will finally produce their own painting by painting just like Claude Monet, outside.
In French we are looking at 'Likes and Dislikes' and learning to say, read and write things we like, love, do not like and detest.
