During RAID this half term we will be looking at 'Paddington at the Palace' by Michael Bond exploring the text using our dog domains, Vocabulary Victor, Sequencing Suki, Rex Retriever, Predicting Pip, Inference Iggy, Fluency Fred and Expression Eric. Our dog domains will allow us to delve into the text a little further and enable us to open up the text to look at it in more depth.

This half term in Maths, the children will be developing their understanding of number and place value to 100. They will practise counting objects accurately to 100 and learn how numbers are made up of tens and ones. Using place value charts, they will partition and flexibly partition numbers in different ways, helping them to build a deeper understanding of how numbers are composed.
Children will also explore placing tens and ones on a number line, comparing and ordering both objects and numbers, and counting in 2s, 5s and 10s. Alongside this, they will strengthen their recall of number bonds to 10, 20 and 100 and develop confidence in adding and subtracting one from a given number. These learning experiences will help children build strong number sense and a secure foundation for future mathematical learning.

This half term in Science, the children will be learning about plants and how they grow. They will explore and name the different parts of a plant, including the roots, stem, leaves and flower, and learn about the important job each part does.
The children will investigate what plants need to stay healthy and grow, such as water, sunlight and suitable temperatures. They will have opportunities to observe plants closely, ask questions, and make observations over time as seeds and plants develop. Through practical activities, the children will learn about the life cycle of a plant and gain a greater appreciation of the natural world around them.
We encourage you to talk with your child about the plants they see at home and outdoors, helping them to identify different plant parts and discuss what plants need to grow strong and healthy.

This half term in History, the children will be learning about The Great Fire of London and its importance in shaping the city we know today. They will find out how the fire started in 1666, why it spread so quickly, and the impact it had on the people of London. Through stories, photographs, maps and historical sources, the children will explore what life was like in London during the 17th century and compare it with life today.
Jigsaw - This half term we will be looking at being me in my world and celebrating difference.
In Art we are looking at the skill of painting and drawing our self-portraits, looking at the artist Pablo Piccaso
