This Half Term

English and Reading

Our key text that we will be focusing on this term is 'The Great Chocoplot' by Chris Callaghan. 

This book will be inspiring our writing within our English lessons and we shall also be picking the text apart in our reading lessons (RAID). In our reading lessons, we will be discussing the different comprehension components and also discussing the impacts that the story has on us as the reader.

Maths

In maths this term, we will be focusing on mass, capacity, shape and statistics. We will also been revising addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. 

History

During the summer term, year three will be focusing on the Anglo-Saxons. We will be looking at how the Anglo-Saxon period started, the land use during this time and what the housing would have been like. We will also be looking at the Bayeux Tapestry. 

Science

In Science, we will be focusing on plants. We will be looking at the different parts of a plant including the roots, stem, leaves and flowers and their functions. 

Art

In Art, we will be focusing on textiles. Later this term, we will be making our own tie dye piece!             

RE

In RE, we are looking at different holy places.

Music

In music, we are practicing our singing skills!
